WHY I AM RUNNING

My mission is to ensure that every student in our district receives an inclusive and quality equitable education. I intend to leverage my twenty six years of teaching experience and extensive knowledge of Davis School District to promote faculty and teacher well-being as part of this mission. I will seek input from parents, teachers and all stakeholders to make informed decisions to benefit all students in the district.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I grew up in a large but tight-knit family who all had to learn to work hard from an early age. We didn't have much money, and some of my earliest memories include having to dig out a potato from our garden just so that I could eat something for dinner. I have never had anything handed to me and have worked extremely hard to get where I am. I have a master's degree in Chemistry, currently teach AP Biology and Chemistry, and (if I may humbly add) have been blessed to have earned many state- and national-level teaching awards. I don't have a lot of money or political connections, but I do have a few things going for me: a great work ethic, and a genuine passion that each child get a quality education. I love serving the educational needs of the students in our community and want to continue an active role in the community education system. I'd really appreciate your vote!

Someone just came to my door canvasing for your campaign for Davis School Board. The flyer had a picture of you and it rang a bell. . . . I think you taught me Biology in 2007 at Clearfield High School. Was that you?

If you are who I remember, then you were one of my favorite teachers ever. You were always encouraging me to do my best and thanking me for being an engaged learner. I always got A's in your class because the way you taught and the material you delivered was so interesting and kept my mind stimulated.

I just moved back into Davis County and my 3 children will grow up to go to school at Layton High. You could say that I have a vested interest in Davis School Board being run by smart, compassionate people that have proven themselves as educators. If you plan to lead on the School Board the way you led me in my studies, I'd be happy to vote for you!
